Bank calls without the hold music
Bank phone support is a phone tree wrapped around a hold queue. It is also, for most problems, the only channel that resolves anything — the app can show you a charge but not remove it.
There is a strict limit on what a phone agent should do here, and we hold to it: no account numbers, no card numbers, no Social Security number, no security answers. Ever.
What is left is still worth a lot. What is this fee. What is your policy on this. What do I need to bring to a branch. How do I dispute a charge and what is the deadline. Those answers are behind forty minutes of hold music, and we will hold instead of you.
The fee appeared in March and again in April, May and June. Each month he meant to call. Each month the hold time was longer than the lunch break he had to make the call in.

Please call my bank and ask what the $35 fee on my account is for, and whether it can be reversed.

What a call actually sounds like
An excerpt from a call this system placed over the phone network, exactly as it came back — including the part where it says what it is. It was dialled to our own number with a placeholder business name, which is worth saying plainly.
Result recorded: booked, tonight at 7 PM.
Questions people ask
Can it access my account?
No — and it will not try. It does not read out account numbers, card numbers, Social Security numbers or security answers, which means it cannot pass identity verification. It asks policy and process questions, which is where most of the useful information actually is.
Can it dispute a charge for me?
It finds out exactly how to dispute one — the process, the form, the deadline, the department — and brings that back. Filing the dispute requires your verified identity and stays with you.
What if my English isn't good?
That is who this is built for. You write or speak your request in your own language — English, Chinese, Spanish, Vietnamese, Korean or Russian. The call itself is placed in English, and the transcript and result come back to you in your language.
Does the person on the other end know it's an AI?
Yes. Every call opens by saying it is an AI assistant calling on your behalf. That sentence is written into the code, not left to the model to decide, so it cannot be skipped.
What happens if nobody picks up?
One task is not one call. Voicemail, a phone tree, or a 'call back after five' all get logged and the task stays open, so you can send it again without retyping anything.
