Privacy Policy
1. Who we are
Bookingami is operated by Null Pointer Apps ("we", "us"). This policy explains what we collect when you use Bookingami to have an AI assistant place a phone call on your behalf, and what we do with it. Questions go to shawntsia@gmail.com.
2. What we collect
Account information. Your email address, and your name and profile photo if you sign in with Google. This comes from Firebase Authentication and is what identifies your account.
What you ask us to do. The business name and phone number you want called, what you need, the times that suit you, any notes you add, and the name and callback number you want given to the business. You type this in; we store it so the assistant can say it.
The call itself. A written transcript of the conversation, the outcome the assistant recorded, why the call ended, and timestamps. We do not record audio. Several US states require every party on a call to consent before it may be recorded, so recording is switched off at the provider and no audio file is created or kept.
Usage analytics. We use Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how the product is used: pages visited, features used, device type, and coarse location derived from your IP address. This relies on cookies and similar identifiers set by Google. We use it to improve the product. You can opt out with Google's browser add-on.
What we do not do. Bookingami ships no advertising SDK, does not build advertising profiles, and does not sell or rent personal data to anyone.
3. Gmail, if you connect it
Connecting Gmail is optional, off by default, and asked for inside the app rather than at sign-up. Everything below applies only if you turn it on.
Why it exists. Some calls sit on a list for months, not because the call is hard but because nothing reminds you: the subscription about to auto-renew, the warranty running out, the appointment you were told to book. Those reminders are usually already in your inbox. With your permission we look for them and show you what we found.
What we read. Read-only access, and a deliberately narrow search: mail from the last 90 days whose subject looks like a renewal, appointment, reminder, warranty, invoice or statement. Spam, trash and chats are excluded. We do not read your mailbox generally, and we cannot send, delete or change anything in it.
What leaves Gmail. For each matching message: the sender, the subject, the date, and the short preview line Gmail itself generates, truncated. Message bodies and attachments are never requested and never leave Google.
What we keep. Only the errand — a business name, what you would need to ask them, and roughly when it matters by. We do not store the message, its preview, its sender or its subject. If you disconnect Gmail, those suggestions are deleted along with the connection.
We never take a phone number from your email. Anyone can send you mail, and this service places real phone calls that give out your callback number — so a number taken from a message would let a stranger decide who we ring. Suggestions carry a business name and nothing else; the number is looked up from our own directory of published customer service lines, or from Google Places, exactly as it is when you start a call yourself.
Nothing is called on its own. A suggestion is something to look at. It becomes a call only when you tap it, fill in the same form as any other request, and confirm it.
Google API Limited Use. Bookingami's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Specifically: we use this data only to provide the errand-finding feature described above; we do not transfer it except as needed to provide that feature or where the law requires it; we do not use it for advertising; and we do not use it to develop, improve or train generalized artificial intelligence or machine learning models. The message headings are processed by Google Cloud Vertex AI to identify the errand, under terms that do not permit that content to be used to train Google's models. No employee reads your mail, except where you specifically ask us to look at a message to resolve a problem you have reported, or where the law requires it.
Turning it off. Disconnect it in the app's settings at any time, which deletes the connection and the suggestions it produced. You can also revoke access from your Google Account permissions page.
4. Why we hold it
To place the call you asked for, to show you what was said and what was agreed, to let you retry a call that did not land, and to keep your history available when you sign back in. We also use it to investigate problems you report and to prevent abuse of the service.
5. The people on the other end of the call
When we call a business on your behalf, the assistant states in its first sentence that it is an AI calling for you, and gives your name. If the person asks again during the call, it says so again. It will not read out card numbers, government ID numbers or account credentials. If the business asks not to be called, the assistant ends the call.
You are responsible for the number you give us. We dial only that number. We do not look up alternates and we do not pass your details to anyone other than the business you named.
6. Who else processes your data
We use these providers to run the service. We do not give them your data for their own marketing.
We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or where we believe in good faith it is necessary to protect someone's safety or to investigate fraud or abuse.
7. How long we keep it
Tasks and transcripts stay in your account until you ask us to delete them. Email shawntsia@gmail.com and we will delete your account and its calls.
If you connected Gmail, the errands we found there are deleted the moment you disconnect it — we do not keep them once you have withdrawn the access they came from.
8. Your choices
You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to shawntsia@gmail.com. If you are in the EEA or UK, we act as the data controller for the information described above.
Gmail, if you connected it, can be disconnected in the app's settings without affecting anything else about your account.
9. Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest on Google Cloud infrastructure. Access to the production database is restricted. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your data we will tell you as required by law.
10. Children
Bookingami is not intended for anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a minor has given us data, contact us and we will remove it.
11. Changes
We will update this page when our practices change and revise the date at the top. During the private beta, expect it to change as the product does.
