Getting your pet seen

When an animal is unwell, the difference between being seen today and being seen Thursday is decided entirely by phone calls — the clinic keeps a few emergency slots and gives them to whoever gets through.

It is also a call that is hard to make calmly, because you are worried, and describing symptoms is not beginner vocabulary in any language.

We call, ask what you told us to ask, and find you a clinic with room.

For example
Gone by ten past nine

The clinic keeps four same-day slots. They open at nine. By 9:10 they are given out, to whoever got through, in whatever language got through fastest.

You write this, in any language

My cat has been vomiting since yesterday. Please call vets near me and find one who can see her today, and ask what the visit costs.

What comes back

Which clinic can see her, when, and what the visit will cost.

What we call about

  • Finding a clinic that can see a sick animal today
  • Booking an annual checkup, vaccinations, or a dental
  • Asking what a procedure costs before you commit
  • Asking whether a clinic takes new patients and what they need
  • Asking about boarding, grooming, or a nervous animal's needs

What a call actually sounds like

An excerpt from a call this system placed over the phone network, exactly as it came back — including the part where it says what it is. It was dialled to our own number with a placeholder business name, which is worth saying plainly.

AIHi. This is an AI assistant calling on behalf of Sean Lee. I'd like to make a reservation, a table for 2 for tonight. Is now a good time?
ThemYeah. It's a little tough.
AIOkay. I understand. You have any availability for a party of 2 tonight?
ThemI think 7 PM.

Result recorded: booked, tonight at 7 PM.

Questions people ask

What happens if nobody picks up?

One task is not one call. Voicemail, a phone tree, or a 'call back after five' all get logged and the task stays open, so you can send it again without retyping anything.

What if my English isn't good?

That is who this is built for. You write or speak your request in your own language — English, Chinese, Spanish, Vietnamese, Korean or Russian. The call itself is placed in English, and the transcript and result come back to you in your language.

Can it describe my pet's symptoms?

Yes — the restriction on medical detail applies to human medical calls. For a vet, describing what the animal is doing is exactly what gets you the right appointment, and you write that description yourself.

Will it call without asking me first?

No. You see exactly who is being called and what will be said, and nothing is dialled until you tap confirm.

How do I know what was actually said?

Every call comes back with a full transcript, line by line with timings, plus a short summary of the outcome. Calls are not recorded — you get the text, not the audio.
